Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the United States. The actress is an actress, singer and dancer. Her initial performances on Broadway include in the musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. She was awarded the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in the Play in the role of Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of her career working alongside renowned actors and directors across stage film and television and she is continuing her award-winning collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford can be seen next as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani as Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It will premiere on 22nd November. Ashford is involved in Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust which stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film will be available through Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford will be returning in 2023. He will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the return of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The team behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at leading the production. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is based on the scandal that included Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp during the national crisis. For two seasons, she played a prominent role in the hit show on CBS called B Positive. It was co-produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda Lavin Sheryl Crow, Hector Elizondo as well as Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her portrayal of Essie in You Can't Take It with You earned her Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Additional Broadway credits includes Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and her first role as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she received another Tony Award nomination. Ashford is from the city of Denver resident who splits his time in Los Angeles.
